Makani Power

Worked with MacArthur Fellow Saul Griffith to design Energy Literacy eTech presentation which then inspired WattzOn.com. Currently redesigning presentation for publication in book form by Make Media.

Kevin Kelly

Consulted and designed KK*, Wired editor-at-large Kevin Kelly’s new superblog.

ViviendasLeón

Creative direction, consultation and design for non-profit organization building sustainable houses in León, Nicaragua.

Albertson Design

Art Director, 2003–2008
Collaborated with principal David Albertson in creative direction, art direction and design of editorial, identity, collateral, interactive and environmental projects. Selected, art directed and established creative vision for illustrators and photographers, and produce photo shoots. Supervised junior designers and act as design lead. Presented creative work and rationale to clients on a regular basis.

Make Magazine

Founding art director, collaborated with Dale Dougherty of O’Reilly Media to establish initial logo, identity and first issue prototype. Assigned photographers and illustrators. Designed all pages of content and Art Direction. Supervised interns to help produce issues 1–7. Worked with authors to synthesize content into more easily understood editorial content.

Maker Faire

Established logo, graphic identity, event signage and collateral for Make Magazine’s annual DIY technology fair.

Slow Food Nation

Created the Slow Food Nation logotype and graphic identity for the inaugural 2008 event spearheaded by Alice Waters. Art directed and designed all printed materials for the event, including advertising and outdoor. Also designed interior signage system and exhibition graphics.

OTHER EXPERIENCE

Cooper-Hewitt Smithsonian Institute

Internship
Worked with Ellen Lupton to design the Cooper-Hewitt’s Triennial Exhibition interior graphics, displays and webtools.

Pentagram

Internship
Worked under the direction of Abbott Miller. Contributed to the design of his exhibit in the 2003 Triennial and the 2wice exhibit in Spain.
